Neibo Technologies Inc. Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
1. Who We Are
Neibo Technologies Inc. operates Neibo as a platform for matching volunteers with local opportunities and for facilitating the sale of related goods and services connected to community participation. We determine how and why personal information is processed for these purposes. For privacy inquiries or to exercise the rights described in Section 6, please contact us through the contact form on the About page.
2. Personal Information We Collect
We collect account and contact information such as your name and email address when you create an account. We may also collect profile information including your profile photo, city or province, bio, languages spoken, and other information you choose to share. Where required for onboarding and eligibility, we collect your date of birth and location confirmation. Hosts may provide organization details such as name, address, and purpose. We also collect volunteer activity information, communications, payment details when you subscribe to a paid plan, and technical session data necessary for security and app functionality. We do not collect government identification, biometrics, or conduct background screening. Users self-declare their eligibility and criminal history status, and some hosts may request separate verification.
3. Why We Collect and Use It
We use personal information to create and manage accounts, connect users to opportunities, send account and activity notifications, review opportunity posts for compliance using automated tools, process payments and manage billing, send marketing messages only where consent has been given, operate the Store and related commercial features, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Automated Content Review
When a Host submits an opportunity post, the content is reviewed by an automated system that uses a third-party AI or large language model service to assess compliance with our community guidelines. The review is used solely to approve, deny, or flag posts. We do not use volunteer activity data, profile information, or private messages to train third-party AI models, and submitted post content is used only for compliance review and for maintaining moderation records where applicable.
5. Who We Share It With
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers and other users where that is necessary to operate the platform. This includes cloud hosting providers, our application infrastructure provider, payment processors, AI review providers, and other users for profile and opportunity participation details that are part of the service. Personal information may be transferred to the United States, and by using Neibo you consent to that transfer consistent with our Terms of Service.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or withdrawal of consent to the processing of your personal information, subject to applicable law and contractual restrictions. To exercise these rights, please use the contact form on the About page. We will acknowledge requests and respond within a reasonable time and, where required by law, within 30 days. We may verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
7. Communication Preferences and Unsubscribing
We send transactional emails that are necessary for the service and marketing emails only where you have consented. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we record your preference and respect it going forward. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect necessary transactional messages related to your account or activity.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to maintain your account, provide the service, and meet legal or operational requirements. Account and profile information is retained while your account remains active. Volunteer activity, moderation records, and opt-out records may be kept for longer periods where reasonably necessary. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days unless a longer retention period is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
9. Cookies and Analytics
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We collect session data for security and app functionality only and do not share it with advertising networks.
10. Children
Neibo is not intended for users under 13 years of age or for people who are not located in Canada. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users under 18 may require parental or guardian consent depending on the nature of the activity, consistent with our Terms of Service.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No internet-based service can be guaranteed as completely secure.
12. Infrastructure Changes
Neibo currently operates on Base44 infrastructure and may move to other providers in the future. If that happens, we will update this Privacy Policy and take reasonable steps to protect your data during the transition.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app and the updated date at the top of the page will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
